Cautionary Note!

We don't provide a Checklist for what else you might need to check out before proceeding with a PD project on your house. However, since PD is Planning Permission you should probably take the same precautions as you would when carrying out a project using Planning Permission granted by the council. A Lawful Development Certificate application should flush out planning issues but other matters such as building regulations and perhaps any covenants and/or old planning Conditions on the property will need to be born in mind. Something called an Article 4 Direction might affect your house and further limit your PD rights, although they are quite rare. Find out more about them here.
